Opportunity:
We are excited to invite 3 - 5 passionate individuals to join our Board of Directors. As a board member, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission and promoting equitable access to breastfeeding resources. We are looking to grow our board to make a larger impact. 

Qualities We Seek:

Reflective of Our Community: We encourage candidates who represent the diverse population we serve.

Background in Key Areas: While not required, experience in fundraising, community engagement, non-profit work, or grant writing is a significant plus.

Networking Skills: Strong connections within the community to help expand our reach and impact.

Community Investment: Individuals who are actively involved and invested in community initiatives. If desired, send us your LinkedIn page with your email!

Support for Public Health: Commitment to supporting public health efforts, breaking down barriers, and addressing health inequities.

Responsibilities

  • Must be local to San Diego county, will accept Riverside county residents

  • Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes for the foundation; committing to at least 12 (1.5 hour) meetings per year.

  • The board meets monthly on weeknights via Zoom

  • Committee meetings are every other meeting and are used to do work in your prospective committee chosen upon joining the board, you may choose your committee of preference. (The committees are: Fundraising, Advocacy, Volunteers & Outreach, Sustainability / Finance)

  • Attend our annual events, support fundraising efforts, review of scholarship applicants in Spring & Fall.


Term Limits:
2 year minimum with three consecutive two year terms being the max. 

  • Actively participate in fundraising initiatives to support reduced-cost visits and scholarships.

  • Advocate for public health efforts addressing racial disparities and health inequities.

  • Engage with the community to strengthen our impact.

Loom has a phone app or you can record from your desktop and it is free to set up an account, your videos are published privately.

  • Community Engagement Advocates: Assist in organizing and participating in community events. Build relationships with local organizations, healthcare providers, and community leaders to enhance our outreach efforts.
